A.I., unlike former technologies, will likely cause job losses greater than the sum of new jobs created. Sails let to steam. Steam led to fossil fuels. Each change required the creation of entirely new industries, supply chains, employment skills, and expertise. Population growth, and shrinkage due to conflicts, but mostly growth, supplied workers to fill new roles and positions created by new technologies and industry. We are at a point where the new technology will likely lead to a reduction on jobs, while the population continues to increase. Will unemployment lead to the necessity to implement U.B.I.? If so, where will all of the money come from? The resurgence of Marxism in some Western countries will increase pressure on governments to increase social program spending in the name of “wealth redistribution”. Will this plan to “redistribute wealth” lead to more taxation of assets, wealth, and capitalization, through Tokenization of all of your tradable possessions?
