Always follow the money. When Oprah gives away 10 cars, she knows the resulting publicity will earn her 20. Mind you, the 10 are a write-off, so, really, the taxpayer is giving them away. Not a Republican issue but a point that people in power know how to make money. Doge is a sound idea but the an uphill battle.
I like the idea behind DOGE but I think the powers that control money will never let DOGE cut into their profits or power base.
